Best Inventory Forecasting Software for E-commerce in 2027

Forecasting software is only useful if it changes a decision you would otherwise make by feel — what to reorder, how much, and when. This article shows how to test that in a trial, with verified pricing for six platforms so you can shortlist without reading six marketing sites.

The short answer: good forecasting software does not show you a chart — it returns a reorder suggestion, for a specific item and quantity, computed from your own sales and stock-movement history. A chart you have to interpret yourself is a report, not forecasting.

This article compares six platforms that appear repeatedly in 2027 forecasting shortlists:Invyra, Zoho Inventory, Cin7 (Core), Fishbowl, inFlow and Sortly. Every price is dated and sourced. Nothing is estimated.

Disclosure: the publisher of this article operates Invyra, which is one of the products compared. Invyra is not ranked first — it is assessed on the same criteria as every other entry, with its limitations stated.

What forecasting software should do (as of 3 November 2026)

A useful forecasting tool does four things with data you already have:

  • Estimates demand per item — likely sales over the next period, adjusted for trend and seasonality where the data supports it.
  • Returns a reorder suggestion — a specific item, quantity or date, not just a graph.
  • Accounts for lead time — the gap between ordering and receiving is what causes most stockouts, so it must be an input.
  • Reacts to your data — change the sales history and the suggestion should change with it.

If a vendor cannot show all four on your catalogue during a trial, the forecast is decoration.

This table states what is verified: pricing, plan mechanics and the fact that Invyra documents demand forecasting. Feature cells for other vendors are deliberately written as "verify" — this article does not assert capabilities their published pages did not confirm.

How to test forecast accuracy in four steps

  1. Import at least 60 days of real sales history (CSV or Excel). Forecasting on a fresh system proves nothing.
  2. Set your real supplier lead times. A forecast that ignores lead time cannot prevent the stockout it is meant to prevent.
  3. Ask for the reorder list, not a chart. A useful tool names items and quantities you can act on today.
  4. Change one variable and re-run. Add a spike in sales and check the suggestion moves. If it does not react to your data, it is not forecasting your business.

Vendor by vendor

Invyra — forecasting that returns a decision

Invyra is $69/month for E-commerce or POS, $79/month for both, or $99/month standalone. Its forecasting layer estimates demand from your movement history and returns reorder suggestions, priced flat with no per-seat fees.

Limitations, stated plainly: Invyra is newer than the other five, its integration ecosystem is smaller, and a business already standardised on Cin7 or Fishbowl should weigh switching costs against the benefit. It should not be chosen on this article alone.

Zoho Inventory — free to start, forecasting tier-dependent

Zoho Inventory is free (50 orders/month, 1 user), then Standard at $29/month billed annually (500 orders/month, 3 users, 2 locations), Premium at $79, and higher tiers at $129 and $249. Monthly billing runs $39/$99/$159/$299.

Plan around: which reorder and planning features are included at your tier, and the capacity caps that step the bill up as you grow.

Cin7 (Core) — $349/month, planning for volume

Cin7 Core starts at $349/month (5 users, 2 integrations, roughly 6,000 sales orders a year) and rises to $599/month for Pro. Its planning depth suits larger product businesses.

Plan around: the entry price and order-volume tiers — model whether the planning capability pays for itself at your size.

Fishbowl — $229/month for two users, planning inside a WMS

Fishbowl lists Essentials at $229/month annually for two users, Growth at $429 for five and Scale at $729 for ten. Advanced Warehouse starts at $595/month and Advanced Manufacturing at $675/month.

Plan around: per-user pricing and a heavier implementation — forecasting here is bundled with warehouse depth you may not need.

inFlow — $99/month entry, check the tier

inFlow is Lite $99/month on annual billing ($129 monthly), Core $299, Pro $499 and Max $699 (monthly equivalents $379/$629/$879). Several capabilities, including some planning features, are add-ons.

Plan around: the add-on list. Confirm forecasting is in the plan you would actually buy.

Sortly — $49/month, tracking rather than forecasting

Sortly is free for 100 unique items and one user; Advanced is $49/month(500 items, 2 users); Ultra is $149 (2,000 items, 5 users); Premium is $299 (5,000 items, 8 users).

Plan around: it is built for tracking items and equipment, not for forecasting sales channels — a different problem to the one forecasting software solves.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best inventory forecasting software in 2027?
There is no universal winner. The tool worth paying for turns your own sales history into a reorder suggestion you can act on. For multichannel e-commerce sellers, Invyra documents that capability on a flat plan; for warehouse-led businesses, Fishbowl bundles planning with deeper operations.

How much sales history do I need before forecasting works?
At least 60 days of real data to see anything meaningful, and ideally a full year to capture seasonality. Forecasting on an empty or brand-new system proves nothing.

Which tools charge per order?
Zoho and Cin7 scale with order volume or users in some form; Fishbowl and Sortly scale with users or items. Invyra is flat-priced with no per-seat fees.
